Photography has always been
a passion of mine and I
began my professional
journey in the early 70’s,
focusing on sports
photography in the city of
Atlanta. I was one of those
folks who carried their
camera everywhere
(literally), so my subject
matter soon became vast and
varied, which continues
today. Being a
freelance writer and
photographer living in the
Blue Ridge Mountains of
Western North Carolina, I spend
a good deal of my time
focused on the natural
wonders abundant in this
part of the country. The Great Smoky Mountains
National Park is only 30 miles
away while the amazing and
always beautiful Blue Ridge
Parkway begins a short drive
from home as well. I live
surrounded by National
Forests in every direction
to encompass Georgia, South
Carolina, North Carolina and
Tennessee which is the heart
of Appalachia giving me a
large palate of beauty and
events to cover.
I am also
an organic homesteader, a
former North Carolina Master
Gardener, a National Wildlife
Habitat Steward and my
property, called "Earth
Magic", is NWF certified Backyard
Habitat. Because of this, a
good bit of my work revolves
around the garden, it's
wildlife and the surrounding forests.
Event
coverage (parties,
anniversaries, birthdays,
special occasions, etc.), natural setting
portraits, pet portraits
along with residential
and commercial work rounds out my portfolio.
